on the point of “terfs aren’t like [other types of bigots]”… yes they are lol. they’re still human beings and can make innocuous posts about normal shit, sure, but so are racists and antisemites and misogynists and homophobes- one’s humanity doesn’t diminish the harm they do. i still don’t want to share the opinions of bigots, even if they aren’t current actively engaged in bigotry.
if your point is ’if you agree with a post about feminisn but delete it when it turns out the op is a terf, you actually agree with terf stuff’, i think this isn’t necessarily true either- bigots are very good at couching the meaning of their words in plausible deniability, and learning this about them can greatly change the context of their points. i’d refer you to this post for an explanation why
Also terfs do that weird shit where they act like decent human beings and when someone agrees with them that cats are cute or it’s weather outside they go to brag to other terfs how they totally fooled the handmaids or normies or w/e is their go-to insult. “Haha they think I’m not a terf so they liked my cat pic, those losers!”
It’s not even dog whistles it’s the one not-hateful-thought per day allowance. So yup it’s easier to block and remove reblogs than tolerate those mind games and ulterior motives.
